"Go West, Young Man!"

4 08 2005

Those words were made famous, if memory serves correctly, by a newspaper editor sometime during the great westward expansion of the United States. They also pretty much sum up what God has done in my life in the last month or so. That has also, by the way, been a pretty intense time.

Having been transferred to the Los Angeles branch of my ministry, I bought a car at an auto auction and began to make the 2,000 + mile drive from my parents’ home in Kentucky. I quickly discovered that the car was — in technical terms — a bit of a lemon. With the car consuming oil faster than gasoline, and with many prayers being offered on my behalf, I finally made it to the left coast.

Since arriving, I’ve been trying to find a place to live, and jumping back into the work of a missionary. This has meant lots of street evangelism, trying to arrange visits with Jewish people in order to study the Bible with them, and speaking in some churches. I’m excited about the start of this new season in my life.
